Clubs
One
thing that the
Josiah
Quincy
School
does for the fifth graders is Clubs. Clubs
are only for fifth graders and in the beginning of the year you go to the
auditorium and they give you a sheet of paper and you write you name and you
pick your top three choices of what you would like to do for your club.
There are many choices like Sports Club, Drama Club, Chinese Brush
Painting, Newspaper Club, Dance Club and Internet Club.
Soon they will let you know which club you are assigned to from your top
three choices you have picked. You
can go to your club every Friday, last period unless you need to do extra work
or unfinished work.
From
the 6 clubs there are many choices to pick from such as:
Sports
-
It is much like Physical Education but you can do many other free things like
you don’t have to do games or any thing that she assigns.
You may do things like basketball games, gymnastics, practicing
basketball, etc. The Sports Club may
have a Student verses Teachers basketball game near the end of the year.
The teachers are Mrs.Yee and Mrs.Graff.
Drama
-
You can talk about Shakespearean plays, practice voice projecting, practice
plays, improvise plays, you get to go into costumes, you get to go on cool and
fun field trips and near the end of the year you get to do a Shakespeare play in
the school auditorium. The teacher
is Ms.Doyle.
Chinese
Brush Painting-
You can learn how to handle a Chinese paintbrush and you can draw pictures that
the teacher assigns you. When you
are done with your picture and you are finished with every detail your picture
will be hanging in the main hallway where everyone can see your picture and how
good you have done. The teacher is
Mr.Xie.
