Meal Information
|
- Parent contributions are requested for the mid-morning
and mid-afternoon snacks. (Parents also are encouraged
to contribute other household products, such as liquid
soap, Kleenex, etc.) Parents or guardians are responsible

- ELC Meals can be provided free, can be billed at
the full price, or can be billed at a reduced price.
- The costs for ELC meals are:
- Bills for meals are sent out monthly, although parents

Student Pick-Up Policy
|
| Parent must enter the school through
the parking lot entrance on Orchard Road to pick up their
child. When a child is enrolled in the ELC, the child's
parent(s) or guardian(s) will be asked to fill out an
Emergency Card that indicates in writing all individuals
with permission to pick-up the child from school. Unless
the child's parent or guardian sends in explicit written
permission authorizing an individual not listed on the
Card to pick-up the child on a specific date or dates,
only those persons listed on the Emergency Card will be
allowed to pick-up a child. Parents, guardians, and authorized
individuals may be asked for some form of identification
when they pick-up their children. Any special circumstances
need to be approved by the Principal. |
| |
| The Center assumes that both
parents have legal custody of a child. Either parent will
be allowed to pick-up or to authorize a designated individual
to pick up a child, unless the ELC is given a document
that indicates differently. |

Bus Riding Policy
|
| School transportation is a privilege
which can be revoked. Children who ride the bus to the
Early Learning Center and any adults who participate in
this activity must obey the following rules: |
- children must remain on the sidewalk until the bus
comes to a complete stop;
- when the bus stops completely, children must file
onto the bus and sit in their seats;
- teachers and parents must make sure that all children
sit down and then remain in their seats for the entire
bus ride;
- children on the bus must make no noise that could
distract the bus driver;
- children must listen to and follow any instructions
given by the bus driver;
- a parent or guardian must meet a child's bus, or
the child will not be allowed to disembark.
|
|
If a child or a responsible adult does not follow these
school bus riding safety rules, the following procedure
will be followed:
|
- the bus driver will report the problem to a teacher;
- the ELC Principal will communicate with the appropriate parent and teacher; and child may be removed from the bus.

Nap Time, Clothing, and Toys Policy
|
|
The kindergarten children at the ELC nap and play each
day. Parents are required to provide appropriate items
of linen and clothing for each activity, which must
be labeled with the
child's name. For nap time, each child may bring a small
pillow and a blanket. For play time, each child
needs two complete changes of clothing, including underwear,
socks, pants, and a shirt. Each child's possessions
are kept in a cubby specifically designed for this purpose.
If a child does not have any of these listed items,
the parent or guardian will be contacted by phone and
asked to deliver the missing items to ELC.
The Early Learning Center generally discourages children
from bringing personal toys to school because we cannot
be responsible for lost articles. Children specifically
must NOT bring toy guns or weapons to school.
