SMART Goal #4: Classroom Observation and Supervision

SMART Goal #4 as defined by Boston Public Schools, addresses implementation of regular classroom observation and supervision and implementation of the RBT (Research for Better Teaching) supervision and evaluation method.

Our Current Situation: There are a number of new and provisional teachers (19) in the school. Their growth is dependent to a large extent to the amount and quality of feedback from evaluations of their performance .Veteran teachers require a different and yet as intense a level of supervision and feedback. "You inspect what you expect"

Our SMART Goal states the following:

Every teacher in the school who is scheduled to be evaluated by May 15, 2001 (30) will be observed weekly by one of the administrators and a each RBT trained administrator will do a minimum of five of RBT teacher evaluations
