Seventh Grade Math

An exciting and challenging year awaits your 7th grade student. The Lyndon School, in accordance with the Boston Public Schools, uses the Connected Math curriculum to help students become strong problem solvers and gain a thorough conceptual understanding of topics in Algebra and Geometry. The following topics provide the focus for study:

Variables and Patterns

Congruence and Similarity

Comparing and Scaling Figures

Integer Operations

Linear Relationships

Volume and Surface Area

Probability

These topics are very challenging and can only be mastered if students work hard and keep up with assignments and instruction. Student expectations for the course are as follows:

Participate in all Classwork Activities and Follow Directions

Complete and Hand in Homework on Time

Prepare for Unit Tests, District Tasks, MCAS

Ask for Help Before Falling Behind

Students’ grades will be calculated according to the following percentages.
