Welcome to Science with Ms. McClure in Room 202
Hello from Science Room 202 and Ms. McClure My focus in the elementary science classroom is to build on children’s natural curiosity about their world. I hope to create an experience that lets them explore what it means to be a scientist. We will spend as much time as possible doing hands-on work that encourages meaningful thinking. And just like scientists, we will experiment, ask questions, collect data, make conclusions, and communicate our ideas to each other. In each grade we will spend time on life science, physical science, and earth science. In the 3rd through 5th grade we will also look at the people who do science and some of the history of science. All grades, but especially the 3rd through 5th will work hard at developing the skills of communication in science. Literacy is important in science both as a tool for learning, and also as a skill in itself. Below is a very general outline of our topics for this year.
Science Topics for K – 2nd grade
