In an effort to increase and promote a healthier
school community, the Henderson School has
implemented structured recesses throughout the
school day. With school funds, we have
purchased two basketball hoops. BPS has also
provided the school with a large assortment of
recess equipment such as hula hoops, jump ropes,
basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, cones,
scooters, and parachutes. I have had the
opportunity to attend two days of recess
training at the new Salvation Army Kroc Center
facilitated by the BPS Health and Wellness
Department.
Your children are thoroughly enjoying the new
equipment and organized games. At the same
time, they’re also getting some great exercise.
