Charlestown High School is the only public school in Massachusetts to offer Arabic, and now we're expanding under a grant from the Gates Foundation to offer beginning Arabic language classes through our <b>community mentoring program</b> to students of all ages free of charge!<br>
<br>
Our students are very excited about the opportunity to share their learning and teach Arabic to the Boston community. Classes are supervised by the school's two Arabic teachers, and take advantage of the latest developments in Arabic language curriculum design.<br>
<br>
We kicked off the program at MIT on November 19, when three Charlestown High School students taught an hour-long introductory class to thirty teenagers from around New England. Here's some of the feedback we received:<br>

- "I liked the class. It was informative and interactive."<br>
- "I loved the class, I wish it was longer. Thank you so much!"<br>
- "Good class. Lots of vocab. I really liked it."<br>
- "I really liked the class and I would like to learn more."<br>
- "Class was good. Well organized, well-presented."<br>
</ul>
Classes meet every Friday afternoon, from 2-3pm, at the high school. We're flexible enough to welcome new students any time during the school year. We can help you with directions (by car and public transportation) when you register.<br>
